The instructions for this blog suggest not to say anything that could come back on you later. We are often told that anything done on the net can be traced back to the original owner. Yet we are encouraged to participate in online banking, billing by email and buying things online. Adds a new meaning to that saying "Go figure"!

I crashed my computer last weekend, and MouseGuy's crashed in the middle of the week. That's hard to do, XP is pretty stable compared to other operating systems. I had to convert my FAT32 partitions to NTFS and then try to restore a FAT32 backup into a NTFS partition. Wham! Instant white screen (what happened to blue?) "your backup is corrupt". MouseGuy took the easy way, got someone else to click on "Save Project A" - instant hang forever on: "Windows is loading your personal settings". Definition: Value Added Service - BackUp.

By the way, some of the characters mentioned in this blog are real. But this is Sam's Place. He would name them from floor level.

On a serious note, if things happen on your screen and there is nothing to click except 'Okay', remember ALT+F4. That usually will close anything. If an unannounced web page pops up on your screen and it has no menu and the 'X'is out of sight, clobber it with CTRL+W, poof gone...me too..transmission complete.
