Snow Removal - Higher Insurance Rates
Poor drivers are not the only cause of accidents leading to increased insurance rates. For those of us that live in snowy regions there may be additional causes. Having extensive previous snow removal experience this is what I see. Snow removal operators (and their Supervisors) need some instruction.
1st No No!: Salt truck operators cut across corners. This leaves motorists to believe their lane is clear and well salted - until they come to a curve and find it is the other lane that is salted, theirs become icy, because the salt truck cut across lanes.
2nd No No!: Snow plowed into intersections instead of away from it Traveling a multi lane street you all of a sudden run our of lane space because the salt truck or plow swung wide to get around the turn. This causes motorists to crowd each other.
There is more, but you get the idea. Nice job,'give experience early retirement'.
