The Price of Cable TV is Increasing
That is what an advisory brochure said that we received last week. A memo style letter indicated that the movie channels were going up a couple of dollars plus. Then there was a couple colorful inserts that looked like the typical advertising for specialty channel groups. But read carefully. Flip one over and guess what it says - the specialty channels,if you take them separately are going up eighty cents each. Pretty sneaky I would say,why didn't they put that in the letter portion too. And on top of the increases there is tax involved. So the mere cents a day they suggest the increase is,does not include taxes.
Not everyone takes the specialty channels. I only have two, because the groups they have are about as realistic combinations as growing flowers in the sink. In fact, one of those that I do subscribe to has a new ownership now,and is nothing but a garbage game channel. (It used to be called TechTV.) I think I will be dropping that one and it will cover the cost of the increase - well almost. Two can play that marketing game..
