The World Has Changed
Most of us realize the internet has changed our lives, especially those of us that participate in internet activities. There are various tips and suggestions of what to watch for when using online resources. Recently I became interested in perhaps purchasing a domain name and having a paid web page that would offer large amounts of space to expand rather than the 5 meg your regular provider supplies for free. So the price check and reliability scan began. Sometimes we like to support our own, and keep the money in our own country. But like purchasing tangible products, it seems this area is the same. To get a domain name and site authored in my own country costs 'X' amount of dollars. To get the best price, which is about a quarter of the domestic price one has to go to another continent. I am not talking about a place where labour is cheap and perhaps the workers are taken advantage of. This is a country where the economy is similar to ours. I can never figure this out. And with the speed of the internet in things like web pages, you would never know the difference if you didn't check the 'contact us'. Decisions, Decisions, they never get easier.
