Tell Me
Tanning – Just watched a TV segment on the suppertime news program that pointed out the negatives and the danger of getting a tan. Information was confirmed by the health department, information which we all should be aware of anyway. It was mentioned our weather has been lousy lately (I knew that), and that a lot of people head to the tanning beds. Don’t blame me that’s what they called them.
Interviewing people off the street, they stated that they were going to get tanned anyway, despite the dangers, for that golden look. Some even said they would never stop tanning.
This was followed by statements that tanning employees had advised they monitor things, and keep track of times and that tanning by this method was safe. B-u-t health department indicated otherwise.
That’s it, end of segment. What was the point of this mini production? Tell me!
Free Program(s) – i subscribe to a newsletter that very often advertises and reviews ‘free’ programs. Sometimes they are. But most often when you click link after link, it says “download your free program. Try our free program, after 30 days you can purchase our marvellous widget maker for many many dollars.”
Is this a free program? Not in my book, this is a demo. Free is free. Full program, not expiring ever. These are demos. Tell me!
Sale Half Price – Both on the internet and in sales flyers that come to your door you see printers, scanners, and other accessories at half price or less. Picture and print are the same as it always is when they show the regular price. But in tiny print – that’s itsy bitsy tiny – it says, “unit may be refurbished.” Well there is no doubt about the ‘may be’ part. These are not half priced deals. Tell me!
OK I’ll tell you, but you have heard it before: Buyer beware, you get what you pay for, read the fine print!
