Helicopters Rock
Trying to get all the things in that we want to do before returning to Nova Scotia hasn’t left much time for RoseGarden in the past few days, although it has given much material for future publication.
Yesterday was the highlight of our entire winter stay in Panama City Beach. It was a beautiful calm day, and the day we took a flight with Panhandle Helicopter.
Having driven back and forth over the Panama City Beach area constantly for the past four months, it is an understatement to say this was a different point of view. Some of the high rises that look pretty standard when you are driving by, had swimming pools and terraces several floors up.
I was surprised to see so many ponds and bodies of water near places we had been while driving. While flying you suddenly realize they are lakes, much larger than you realize from the ground.
Groups of houses are laid out like small villages, something you don’t realize from ground level. There are so many good things to say about yesterday’s flight that I could go on forever.
JR, our pilot, and Mike made the flight so interesting that one could only want for more. And some day I intend to do that. I have been told that flying a helicopter is one of the more difficult tasks in the airplane world. I have to say that from take off to landing the entire trip was smooth and awesome all the way, to use that overworked word.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit Panama City Beach, Florida, I highly recommend you go for a ride at Panhandle Helicopter. The prices are very reasonable and it will be an experience that will remain with you for a lifetime.
I even had to get one of their t-shirts, Panhandle Helicopter logo on the front, Helicopters Rock on the back.
Note: It will take some time to do editing and production, but in the near future the pictures and video from this flight will be added to NSCAVE YouTube series.
