“NSCAVE Departing Panama City Beach – Over”

I can’t believe four months have passed already and it is time to go home to Nova Scotia. I feel like I have had the opportunity to participate in a history making event, since this was the coldest year for Florida in many many years. Really, I didn’t mean to bring the cold with me.

Even so, there was no snow and we got to do and see many things we wouldn’t have otherwise. Having Panama City Beach as our snowbird home was great.

Highlights included seeing Christmas lights at DeFuniak Springs, New Year festivities on the beach, followed by attending a race at Daytona, something I always wanted to do. A couple weeks later another trip to the Orlando area, where a visit to Webster flea market, Disney and the Kennedy Space Center kept us busy for several days. A small side trip to Tampa and Madeira beach, then back to Panama City Beach.

From PCB day trips followed to Destin, the National Air Museum at Pensacola, and various shopping excursions to Pier Park, Panama City and surrounding areas.

Oh yes, there was also a Captain Anderson boat cruise and the highest highlight of all, the tour of Panama City Beach by Panhandle Helicopter.

Each of the areas we visited all had their own attractions and appeal to visitors. I liked them all. At the same time I am glad we chose Panama City Beach as our headquarters. It was even an unimaginable experience to see almost empty streets turn into traffic jams during the visit of 200,000 spring breakers.  Will we return – you can count on it.

To the permanent residents of Panama City Beach, the businesses, the many new friends we made, Thank You! It couldn’t have been better – well you could have turned up the thermostat a little. Just kidding. Thanks Everyone!
