Internet Slide Shows

Do you like them?

Everywhere I turn it seems there are headlines/articles that look interesting, but suddenly turn into slide shows when you click on them.

Slides?

Most often it shows some uninteresting picture or graphic about the topic that really doesn't tell you much.

You have to look at the slide, and most often, read it, then continue to read the paragraph below to find out what it is all about anyway.

Read

Why not just have an article you can read in the first place?

When I was a trainer, slides were used to illustrate or emphasize a point, or show additional information.

It wasn't the information. And the information wasn't the same information I was speaking.

Why can't the same apply to information being presented on the internet?

Pretty

It seems certain people (and internet companies) think its pretty to have a slide show, - its the latest - because everyone is doing it.

A lot of things on the internet assume we are all stupid.

Pictures are good (slides are pictures in case you are wondering) if they serve a purpose - but not just for the sake of doing it.

Next

Popups when you don't want them, videos playing when we didn't click them, slide shows when we want text, what modern tech advancement will we be exposed to next?
