Driverless Cars

Been reading a lot on the internet about the invention and ongoing perfection process of driverless cars that may become part of our future.

Are they here already?

As I read each day about the hundreds of crashes in my home province and other parts of North America where snowy cold weather is the normal, I wonder if all these vehicles have drivers.

Speaking from experience, driving in slippery unfavourable conditions is not that difficult.

Sure, you need to plan your manoeuvres, leave some space and avoid quick braking and steering in order to stay out of trouble.

Pedal to the metal with the entertainment system full blast, while staring at the GPS as you fumble with the heating controls in four wheel drive isn't going to remove all the other cars and put you on the road all by yourself.

After seeing vehicles going down the road at 120 km/hr (75 mph approx.), during ice, snow and fog conditions, I say driverless cars are here already.

There are people in the driver's seat in those vehicles that crash, but not drivers!

Driverless cars are on the road everywhere. Watch out for them - stay safe!
