Highway Marking
My rant for today is highway markings. Yes those arrows and such on the pavement in the traffic lanes to indicate which way they go, or which way you should go.
If engineers have to approve these markings, then some of them better go to grade school for awhile. If the foremen of these projects have to over see these projects, then join the engineers in the grade school class.
Two recently new construction areas in this area have just been completed to supposedly improve traffic flow and make it easier and safer.
I wish the drivers luck. For these new lanes are marked like you wouldn't believe. In once case a centre lane marked straight through leads you into the right straight through lane on the other side of a set of traffic lights. This is due to a curve in the road...doh! (Mic Mac Blvc.)
In another instance at another intersection a right turn lane branches off from the two main lanes. Painted along side these lanes is a narrow bicycle lane with the bicycle symbol painted clearly in it. But guess what? Where the right turn lane branches off to the right, the two solid lines marking the bicycle lane are painted merrily across the right turn markings. (#7 Hwy / Forest Hills Dr.)
Great job you experts. Welcome to the world of "Insurance Adjusters"!
