Ask For Twice As Much
Wink: If quitters never win, and winners never quit, what fool came up with "Quit while you're ahead"?
Ever hear that old business saying, ask for twice as much and you will get half of it? Many times it works, whether in business or your kids at home. Sometimes a portion is given just to keep the asking party quiet, other times it is the reasonable maximum at the time.
Take our here we go again power company. It was announced today our power bills will be going up 3.8% on April 1st.
The power company was originally requesting a rate hike of 7.5%.
The board that over sees these sorts of things, which reminds me of a magic slate where you lift the plastic and everything disappears, also said two major large corporations only have to endure a 2.7% increase in their power rate. After all they might threaten to close down or move away.
History does repeat itself.
