The Power of the Internet

It takes a fair amount of time to keep a web page up and running smoothly. To get people returning, you have to update often and have something there that they want to see. And that is the difficult part.

My page was listed in Fred Langa's newsletter a few months ago. This is one of the best for computer tips and information and it is free. Getting listed there resulted in hundreds of hits a day for a month or so. My son has a site called FoodRetail and he lists mine on his site as I do his, and this has generated more hits.

This got me looking around this morning and to my surprise I found I am listed many times under Google, the most used search engine of all. If you type in 'Port George',the place handy where I grew up,guess whose site appears at the very top. Does it make me feel good, you bet. Am I patting my own back..well yes, but now I have to kick my own butt and get the page updated, for the world wide web is watching..
