Things That Bug Me
* Stores that have 15 cash registers, but we have to line up at one or two. Then we line up at the door so they can check our receipt. Didn't we just come from the cash? (Don't expect me to line up to get into your store.)
* Stores that have things locked up behind glass cases, and when you purchase an item, 'they' take it to the cashier for you. I will buy it if you hand it to me - if you take it to the cashier I will pretend to buy it, and walk out to find some place where I can get it without the hassle. (Side note; why do they always take it to the busiest cash register?}
* Stores that have these fancy walk through alarm devices that go off when the cashier forgets to deactivate the little security tag. Most of these retailers also have security guards. You look like and idiot and are supposed to go back and have your items rechecked. In some stores they go off so often no one pays any attention - good security there. (If one goes off after I buy stuff, I will not go back, and I will not allow security to check my package. They have no right to do this. Once I pay for it, it is legally mine. They can charge me for shoplifting if they want to, or they can check the copy of the receipt they have on the cash register. But I will win in the end.)
* Stores that say it is our policy. Who is our? Ever try to find out? Guess what 'our' usually doesn't exist.
I realize theft is a wide spread problem, and we all pay for it. However I get tired of being treated as if I was a criminal or potential criminal, because that is what these stores are assuming you are. Innocent until proven guilty - just the other way around!
