School Daze

Parents are running around frantically buying all those school supplies and designer clothes that their off-springs must have. Schools now supply lists of what they think you should buy for them. They dictated exactly what brand or what type of notebook needed to take notes. You just can't take notes, or do your homework, it has to be in a special style bound notebook.

Pretty soon everyone will have to have a notebook computer. We are nearly to that stage now. Wait until they specify the brand of notebook computer you have to have.

Then society dictates the type of jeans or foot wear you must have. This is done in a different way, called peer pressure. You might not have money enough for food or those notebooks listed above, but boy you better have the right belly button showing jeans.

I am glad our children are all grown up and way past that stage. However, as I watch these back to school sales with higher than regular prices it brings it all back. At least I can smile and say "not me"!
