My Door Is Always Open

<> You must have heard that, “my door is always open, if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask”. Sounds sincere, it feels so good to have people there to help you. <>

But what happens if you try to take advantage of that offer? You go there, and that person’s door is usually closed. Or if it is open, they are busy talking to someone else. You stand outside waiting, and the conversation goes on and on, you are being ignored. <>

So you try to phone that person to ask the question or set up the appointment. What happens? After you Press 1 if you want to disconnect, Press 2 if you would like to talk to your mother, Press 3 if you want to talk to me, you get voice mail. Please leave a message and I will get back to you.. You feel like saying “when is the #*&@ door open?”, you duck head. Cause if you leave a message, and your job takes you out on the road, or to other places, when they call back he game of telephone tag begins. <>

So if you tell people that your door is always open, make sure that it is. At least some of the time. Otherwise go stick your head in the sand, - then you will be showing your best part.
