Is It Worth It?

Wink: I started out with nothing and still have most of it left!

I am not much for Christmas shopping or any other kind of shopping for that matter. There seems to be a high number of people who just wait for the rush to the stores to buy the past holiday junk.

* Why do people buy past holiday paper, decorations and trinkets to save until next year? Is it worth it to hang on to that stuff, which will probably go out of style, takes up space, and you will probably forget about it anyway. For the amount it costs, how much is really saved?

* Waiting outside a store in a lineup for cut price sales is not my idea of saving money. For the couple of bucks saved, I will stay inside where it is warm. That is last year out of date stuff anyway.

* Even worse, waiting in the lineup at the cash to pay half price for that doo-ma-jiggy. If I buy something, that money didn't come easy and I am not standing in any d*%$ lineup to fatten some store's profits.

The list could be longer. However the sales are not like they used to be. This is a way to get rid of junk that doesn't sell otherwise. Anything that is worth selling is saved in the back room until the next opportunity to sell at full price.

For example, boxed chocolates are put away until it is a little closer to Valentine's day.

I remember seeing toilet paper last year with fancy Christmas designs on the outer package in May, with no discount. Seems if you weren't paying attention it looked like spring flowers.
