Sixties Seventies and Eighties
Wink: I fired my masseuse today. She just rubbed me the wrong way.
This time I am going to ask you to visit a link, Take Me Back To The Sixties. This was sent to me by a friend. There are a few of these on the go, but I got to thinking.
This is my life.
Yeah.
I remember every single tune listed, and not only that, every reference mentioned. The facts told in this flash presentation were facts that I lived in a lot of cases.
And things seemed so reasonable then. We didn't think so at the time, but compared to todays bull-loney, times were good. Being a techno geek of some sort I would never want to go back.
But!
Things really changed when the 70s began to turn into 80s. That's when I remember getting a pretty good pay raise. But that put you in a higher tax bracket and the take home pay was less than you were making in the first place.
They began to change packaging to meet modern times. Futuristic bottles and boxes, held a lot less, and the prices went up.
Pollution controls were added to engines. Milage went down, and the gas guzzler was born. Exhaust items spewed into the environment didn't really change much, but we paid dearly for those add on controls.
Then plastic was added to everything. Every package, vehicle dashes, furniture, faucets, you name it, contained plastic, including our landfills.
After all those years I finally realized what my grandmother meant when she said: "One step forward, three steps back!"
