Tornado Warning

When we hear about a tornado warning on our weather channel we pay little attention other than casually looking and when things are really bad, looking at the aftermath.

On my trip two things became highlights of sorts. During an Epcot visit one of the features was to actually endure the effects of a tornado in 3-D. You get to feel the wind, sound and even the rain as the display took us through the centre of a tornado and later we got to answer some questions as to which was the better construction for our homes and garages.

One thing I noticed in Florida, and some of the other southern states, when it rains it rains. 100_0777 You can have a clear blue sky and minutes later you can’t see half a car length in front of you. Minutes after that the sun is shining again.

It was a little enlightening to be driving along and be advised we are entering a “Tornado Warning” area. Hey, this is the place we so casually ignored on the weather channel at home. Fate would have it that we stayed overnight in the centre of the Tornado Warning area.

Now we watch the local weather channel with more than casual interest. Hmmmm, I have taken a lot of pictures on this trip, maybe I will have the opportunity to photograph a real tornado – from 1500 ft.
