Tech Toc
I’m pretty well up to date on this new technology stuff. However there are a few things that continue the puzzle.
- Jump Drives – don’t jump.
- Bluetooth – is hardly ever blue.
- Twitter – has tweets, but tweets don’t twitter.
- FaceBook – has no Face or Book.
- Electronic Books – are not electronic, they have no electronics.
- BlackBerrys – are not necessarily black.
- GPS –does not stand for Gospel Party Sing-A-Long.
- Network – has nothing to do with knotting fishing nets before the season opens.
- iPhone – has nothing to do with calling yourself.
- Touch Typing – means typing with your thumbs.
Who comes up with these names anyway? If hard drives were hard, we wouldn’t have to treat them so gentle. If laptops were, you wouldn’t be uncomfortable from the heat. Then there’s netbooks, no net and no book …
