Chain Emails
That's what they really are. More so if it says forward to all your friends, please forward, and all those hints to do just that.
Chain emails still thrive, people keep sending the same ones on and on. Like online computer scams, it amazes me that people believe them and keep forwarding that stuff.
Its so easy to check or verify those ridiculous claims. If you know how to forward email, you must know how to use Google. Simply copy the title or main theme of the chain email to the Google search bar or even the address bar in your browser. You should get enough results to verify if the claim in the email is bogus or not.
It Must Be True – My Friend Sent It
Part of the problem is users receive these emails from their friends and figure they must be true if a friend sent it. In all probability that friend did a quick scan of it and didn't bother to check it out and like the email said at the bottom, forward to all your friends, it could save a life, prevent a smack attack or something.
Wrong
You did the same thing didn't you?
Bad enough that these things are overloading email systems everywhere and clogging up in boxes, and wasting our time.
Even worse is the fact that a good number of people will believe the email word for word, because it came from their friend.
That's just plain wrong - on several counts.
Take responsibility for your emails. Pay attention to what you are forwarding!
