Animals Are Good At Training Humans
Over the years I've had dogs. I've had cats too. At the moment I have no pets, so I watch others, and I learn a lot.
Every morning I watch a dog go by towing leading a lady up the street, leash taut, lady walking briskly.
Every morning I watch a dog go by with a gentleman doing his best to stay on this side of the street, but the leading dog prefers the other side, and always wins.
Two other dogs go by daily, one in front pulling the lady along, the other in the rear with its leash taut once again, to help hold her upright I guess.
I had responsible dog owner all backwards. I see now that the dog is responsible to keep the human in order. Its 6 a.m. get up! Its 7:30, let me out. Its 8 a.m. feed me. Its 9:15, time to go for a walk. And on it goes with Barker reminding you every so often what time it is.
Last week an owner went by that was trained real good. Little Bitemore got tired, so the owner carried him home.
You may think I am just kidding around, but its true, pets train owners well. Ever notice when you play ball with a dog and it goes somewhere where SadEyes doesn't want to go, the owner immediately gets the ball for him? The dog doesn't even have to say 'fetch'.
Cats are different. They don't bark and they are lower to the ground - oh never mind...
Just watch how they train humans too. When they jump on the bed to wake you, they know exactly where your stomach is. And if you don't wake up these claws will tweak your nostrils, then I run.
Or feeding time - I'll look at this dish once, then look at you. If you don't feed me I'll walk all over your kitchen counter and table with these litter fresh feet.
Soft kitty, little ball of fur - until just after you go to bed - playtime!
Hear bump in the night? Its only little Tabby Rocko playing with that new toy you got at the dollar store. All guard cats do night shift.
Remember too that cats have claws, for fluffing up carpets, straightening curtains, and getting up on that new bed spread with the stupid lacy puff balls.
So just remember, no batteries needed, just a little bit of food, and you have all the entertainment I need.
