We’re Back

We’re Back Has Two Meanings

* After spending four months in Panama City Beach, Florida for the winter, we have made it safely back to our home front in Nova Scotia, Ca.

* It also means after a week of traveling RoseGarden will be back on a regular basis again.

drive3The Trip

We have made more than several trips back and forth between our home and our southern snowbird location. This year’s return trip was the absolutely worst one traffic wise so far. Traffic was extremely heavy and hectic in many places. And there were trucks, and trucks, and trucks … well you get the idea.

What was very noticeable, is that in former years you would see hundreds  of trucks with the odd bad driver. That has unfortunately changed to hundreds of trucks with the odd good driver. With our new dash mounted camera, you may see some proof in the future.

Side Trip To Savannah

Our return included a side trip to Savannah, Ga., a city that is very unique and colourful compared to any other. Once we get some sorting and editing done we will do some uploading so that you can see what we mean.

For now just let us say if you have the opportunity to visit Savannah, do it. It is well worth the time.

New Equipment

Only two main things that are not really new to some. First of all, we survived our return trip without using a computer. Usually its stop after a day of traveling, open the laptop/notebook computer and do the usual online checks. This time we used tablets only. For the most part it worked successfully and more easily. But there were a couple glitches that we will describe later.

The second addition was a dash mounted video camera. This served several purposes such as traffic observation as mentioned about trucks above, as well as scenery from a different perspective than can be blended in to other material taken along the way.

Editing and Sorting

This means that there is much editing and sorting to do of videos, still photos and written notes that will take a little time to say the least.

It does mean there are many stories and pictures to come as we get those things done. Everything from fun, factual and just different.

So stay tuned. We’ll update and add every few days.
