Activation
Since my computer recently lost all its programs due to virus activity, I have had some experience with program activation. That is where you have to put in a key number to install the program then go online and get another number from a hash code generated by your computer from the original one. I had a program that I purchased and registered, but never used. After the crash, reinstalled it, but the activation refused and said the program was a dud and not usable. This meant I had to email the company, explain the story and get a new number. Now don't get me wrong, this particular company was very cooperative and quick to respond favourably. But it is the hassle of going through all this, when my other programs, all I had to do was reinstall and put the original number back in. Kind of makes me realize why there are pirates out there.

I have a feeling I will restrict my purchase of any program that uses activation, and more and more companies are joining this routine. Pretty soon they will have activation for babies. When your child is born, it will be complete with chip, but Mom will have to call with Dad's hash code to activate them....
