Flags Waving
Compared to other countries, Canadians are not known as flag wavers. That is,unless they give them away for free, which they did a few years back. Now they are everywhere,in windows,on flag poles, trees, clotheslines, and on tops of buildings. Did we become good flag waving citizens? I don't think so.
Maybe it is my military background, but I always had the understanding that the flag was to go up at dawn and come down again at dusk. That it was improper to do otherwise. Now you see tattered, faded flags flapping day and night. If you just stick it up there and forget it,does it have any real meaning? I hope that hasn't been forgotten too.
