Yard Sales

I went on a little trip to the valley area of Nova Scotia today, and for part of the trip I used the old #1 highway. Now there is an endless varitey of yard sales along this route.

What I was wondering, is what makes otherwise sane people loose their memory chips when they see a yard sale? They stop abruptly with no warning, park half way on the highway and open their doors, cross the road in front of fast moving traffic, and pull back out without looking - in front of oncoming traffic.

And they do this with their children in the vehicle or have them by the hand. Nice to see that this will be carried on for generations. Get run over yourself if that is your wish. But please, let your kids decide for themselves.

I didn't have any close calls, because I was ready for this adventure. But several other people did, and you know what, the people causing the problem were likely unaware of it...
