The Age of Computers Doesn't Make Up For Stupidity

The Christmas shopping binge is in full swing. I think one of the most disturbing things is one well known store (Z) that places ads throughtout it's store with 30% off, 50% off, half price, etc.

Then when you get to the checkout the item rings in for the regular price. Customers are lined up while the cashier makes phone calls, gets other employees and tries to verify the price. On some occasions, the purchasing customer has to take the other staff member back to the area where the item was to prove the sign said 'sale'.

Today (Saturday) a particularly busy day this was happening throughout the various cashiers with lineups of customers at each. This store (Z) has a slogan, "Buy Canadian". Well if this is a sample of good Canadian quality, give me something else.

One other notable exercise is that this store (Z) does that all the time throughout the year, but it is most certainly more annoying this time of year when the lineups are long and tempers are short...including mine.
