Who Cares - We Don't

Year 2006 is well under way and the old blog has been neglected a bit. It seems a lot of us have things on the go that demand a lot of time.

Miz D at Cloud Nine talks about being screwed again, her start to the new year. Weird things go on at this time of year, and I find as each year progresses the "I could care less" attitude prevails. Not only is this the case on an individual basis, but particularly with large corporations as well.

I had to remove the Guestbook off the web site because spammers insisted on placing ads for gambling and porno sites. My son had to do much the same with his site. Now a guestbook is no big deal. It serves no real purpose other than a small sampling of a visual of who dropped by to visit the site. It became a game, remove the junk one day, it was put back on the next. Well the owner of the site is always master, and the easy remedy is remove access by removing the guest book. Problem solved.

I have a bulletin board that currently is sitting idle for the same reason. A minority decided to post items with links to similar above mentioned web sites. I don't have the time to purge it every day, so for now I removed nearly all access. Problem solved.

Then there is my ongoing customer service problem with a large TV that failed Dec. 2nd 2005. It is still not fixed under warranty. It is a name brand well know company. All employees are very highly trained to listen very intently, make lots of promises and do nothing. The company just doesn't care.

What a funny world moden technology has brought about - - - cause it never used to be this way.
