Finally a TV
You heard me gripe here a few times about a major brand TV that failed in less than a year. That was Dec.2, 2005. Finally a replacement arrived yesterday, Feb.17, 2006. It was replaced with a larger (hopefully better) model. I have to say the company did the right thing - the original deal was defective in multiple ways.
The procedure took way too long. The process I had to go through to get action was more involved and costly than necessary. I will be satisfied if the replacement unit turns out to be a reliable product. However this learning experience taught me many things should I buy an expensive product of any kind again.
Some of these suggestions are listed on my web site under warranty. I would pay particular attention to the one about contacting support before you buy. Get a person's name. Then call a second time to see if you can talk to the same individual again. Don't worry about bothering them, they don't worry much about bothering you.
