Sam's Place Changes
Wink: You are having a bad day if you... Fell out of the family tree.
Two changes have been made to the layout of Sam's Place.
First if you use a news reader to keep up to date with certain feeds or sites, you can now subscribe to Sam's Place as well. This will notify you of each post by a short summary in your news reader program. If you want to read the whole post, just click on it and it opens in your main browser.
In Firefox this is known as live bookmarks, or you can add an extension called Wizz RSS News Reader (recommended). To subscribe, drag the word 'Atom' from Subscribe to Posts to your news reader, or click on the RSS logo in the address bar to add it to Live Bookmarks.
There are additional ways to get feeds by using Bloglines, Google Reader or My Yahoo. Information will come up if you left click on the word ATom.
This is a neat way to get the headlines for various news channels as well as Sam's Place. For example I use this method to check headlines daily for the CBC, CTV, Daily News and so on. It saves going to each individual site unless you want to and provides a short summary of what is there if you do. Just look for the RSS or Atom symbol.
The second change is for the Archives. The list in the right column was getting rather long and unmanageable, so I changed it to a drop down menu type list under "Click for blog Archives"
