Long Week

I am experiencing our health care system first hand since over a week ago. One can only imagine what it is like when you read the various stories in the media. When you experience it first hand it stands out in a different light altogether. I have always felt I could deal with problems as they come, looking at various solutions and selecting one. At this time I am dealing with the unknown, the waiting game of our health care system, waiting for a specialist appointment, allows frustration, anger, and uncertainty to multiply to 'do nothing' levels.

Parents The Same

I am able to get to the headlines from time to time, and those are frustrating as well in a different manner. For example, one made in New Brunswick, "for the sake of the children", is so unnatural it continues to make me wonder what this country is coming to. No amount of excuses and reasons will change my mind on this one. But we are not supposed to say anything, just take it and shut up.

Winter Games

Die hards are still trying to bring back the Commonwealth Games. For God's sake give it up. The decision was made, and the best one I believe. Artists drawings of what could have been are baloney. Sure there could have been stadiums all over our region, but they don't come for free, are not staffed for free and are not maintained years beyond the games for free. What a weak offering that is. So much money has been wasted that could have been spent on other things, and now certain individuals want to continue to waste more.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crosswalk Fatalities

Another fatal crosswalk death. How many does it take. Experts saying the markings are not adequate, the lights need to be changed, older drivers need re-testing. As I have said before, the solution is to enforce the rules - all of them. A hundred bucks for any infraction no matter how trivial. Then our drivers would soon catch on and learn what responsibility is. Right now, whether old or young or in between, our drivers don't care. No responsibility. Instead of $70. booster seats, and $25. motor vehicle inspections, get some backbone! Enforce the rules!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it for this time, how was your week?
