Waiting Time

Appointment

The specialist appointment that we were waiting for finally arrived, but the waiting time isn't over. It is May 2nd, so almost another month to sit and fume. That's a long time for an appointment, from March 22nd to May 2nd for something that is 8 or 9 on a serious scale of 10.

I am learning though - to do things that I never had the need (or desire) to do before. I am finding out what the other settings on the washer and dryer are for. You know, the ones besides 'normal' and 'auto'. I am getting to be a pretty good clothes folder. (Before I just crammed them in whatever space was available.)

I have become a pretty good grocery shopper. I should be, I go nearly every day to pick up what I forgot the day before. At least I know where things are now.

I am becoming somewhat of a cook without using the barbecue or the microwave. I made my wife's dinner today - a cup of soup! Just kidding. . .

Comodo Firewall

I started using a new software firewall a week ago, called Comodo. The Pro version is free for who knows how long. I like it. The interface is easy to use, it works very well and you can do what you need with it easily. It is way ahead of ZoneAlarm that got pretty bloated in its recent releases, and Kerio which I have been using for the past year or so. Kerio did a good job, but it was hard to figure out how to do what you wanted it to do. If you like to keep things simple, yet look after all the various intrusions, Comodo is worth a try.

2014 Commonwealth Games

They are still trying to maintain headlines. And all the 'estimators' are still collecting their pay and spending money. The right decision was made to drop the bid, now make another right decision and drop the gang.

Cutting Costs

I still can't figure out why a certain bank keeps sending me statements every month telling me I don't owe them anything. Amount owing $0.00! I know that, they know that, because they are the ones sending the statement, and it costs money to prepare and send that statement. Ahhh... that's why I have to pay $1.50 when I use the competitors banking machine.

How was your week? That was half of mine.
