Plug In USB Correctly
Most of you should already know this tip. Then again I have seen so many computer users both new and experienced fumbling with USB plugs trying to get them plugged in correctly. Heck I even catch myself doing the fumble routine now and then.
A lot of us have numerous USB devices that we continually plug in and unplug many times during the day. Often we are twisting the USB plug back and forth trying to get it to fit into its connector.
As shown in the picture, most USB plugs have that funny USB symbol engraved on one side of the plug. In the majority of cases it is easy to see, and because it is engraved, it is easy to feel with your finger or thumb. Believe it or not, that is put there to tell you how to plug the USB device in.
If you are plugging into a horizontal connection, the symbol should be facing up. Pretty easy huh?
If you are plugging into a vertical mounted USB connection, if it is on the front of your computer it is usually facing away from you, to the right. The positioning of the vertical USB connections on your computer may not be standardized, especially if you built it yourself or had someone build it for you. Just the same, once you fumble once, and see which way the plug should be facing, the rest of the times should be fumble free.
The point is, that little symbol was put on the USB plugs for a reason, and many choose to ignore it. It is so much easier and faster if you just remember to look or feel for the USB symbol.
