Gas A Lot Of Wind
Today another opinion. Supper time news here just indicated gas is going up twelve cents a litre at midnight tonight. Here we have gas regulation. It doesn't do me a bit of good. Every time I get up from the table I feel the same. The same amount of compressed air is still available.
It doesn't do anyone else any good either, for our prices are supposed to be adjusted on Fridays. But there is an "interrupter" clause amongst the paragraphs of regulation. History indicates it is never used to move the prices down, only to push them up.
Because of a large hurricane (Ike) in the US where a lot of the oil production takes place, 'they' are raising the prices because of what might happen.
One person interviewed on TV said it very well. "There is always wind somewhere, so always an excuse to raise the price of gas."
"Canada is an oil producer. There is plenty of it, a shortage may be in our future, but not now." With the largest profits ever posted by the oil companies in the recent past, I am inclined to agree.
I wonder if I sit still after supper if my gas would raise? If it did I don't have an interrupter clause.
