Tickets In Advance
Many of you buy tickets in advance to shows and special events such as concerts and air shows. Sometimes you save a little money by doing that, and most of all you guarantee you have entry and perhaps a decent seat to the event.
What happens though, if the scheduled event is cancelled, rescheduled, or shortened to one day instead of two? You might get your money back, you might not. It pays to check this out in advance before you stand in that long line up, or frustrate yourself online trying to get access.
I remember one time I bought advance tickets for an air show that was supposed to be run on a Saturday and Sunday. Due to weather the Sunday show never took place and my tickets were for Sunday only. Money wasted.
This weekend there was an air show in this region, and again because of weather the show was rescheduled for Saturday only, eliminating the Sunday event. However, the weather wasn't all that cooperative on Saturday and the show was so minimal it was almost a no show.
I don't plan on going to many events anyway, but if I did it would be doubtful I would purchase tickets in advance.
I guess that is why lotteries and other gambling are so successful - because that is what you are doing when you buy tickets in advance.
