Egg Free

Egg front

I received this six page brochure in my snail mail yesterday. The  red arrows were added by me. It is a colourful brochure with illustrations suggesting the healthy benefits of eating eggs daily.

On the front cover you can see very plainly it says: "See inside for Free Offer!"

Egg free

On the last page there is a flap that again says: Free Microwave Egg Cooker Offer"(See over).

Egg offer When you flip the flap over, (flip the flap over - say that ten times fast), there is an order form, of which only the top half is shown here. Again in large letters it  says FREE.

Now read the fine print. "Simply complete this order form and send it with a cheque or money order for $5.99 to cover shipping..." etc. etc.

Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines free as: not costing or charging anything.

Dictionary.com online defines free as: provided without, or not subject to, a charge or payment.

I am having difficulty finding the free here. The brochure was sent to me free. I cannot send $5.99 of my money free because that would cost me a fifty two cent stamp.

Oh I get it! The offer is free, not the egg rubberizer. You have to pay $6.51 for that. "Cracks me up!"
