Green Ballpoint Pens

thumbsup2 In the past I have made both positive and negative comments about the ‘green’ program where we are supposed to do things to recycle and save our environment.

How come they missed ballpoint pens? Think of how many used or half used ballpoint pens we throw in the garbage. Doesn’t that fill up the landfills with sharp little plastic things that take a long time to disintegrate?

In addition to that, many of us have ballpoint pens that accept refills. But we still use them just once and then throw them away. Wouldn’t it make more sense to buy refills and use these ballpoint pens over and over again?

I wouldn’t doubt there is just as much plastic in a ballpoint pen as there is in a plastic grocery bag. Who knows, maybe other environmentally unfriendly stuff too. I wonder what’s in that ink, what kind of metal is that?

Let’s see, what can we call this new Green Ballpoint Pen campaign?  We need one of those modern terms that is catchy.

I got it -  RAP!

RAP – Refill A Pen – how catchy is that?
