Ready When the Steam Stops
If you were expecting an amorous story from a headline title like that, you are on the wrong blog.
From The How’s Your Housework Series
A couple mornings ago, we were having waffles for breakfast. She decided another was in order and installed the goop in the maker. (What else can I call it? It’s waffle mix when its in the box. Once the add water stage has been passed, its goop!)
The conversation went like this: “It should be done by now.”
The Steam Stops
“It’s done when the steam stops,” says I, “That’s what the directions always say.”
The waffle maker lid is carefully opened – goop – on both the top and bottom, white goop.
Conversation: “It hasn’t even started!” Me, “That’s strange.”
“Ha! ha! I forgot I unplugged it. I thought we were done.”
“So its not necessarily done when the steam stops,” I say.
Directions are not always right!
