Credit Card Expiry

Many of us give our credit card numbers to various companies online in order to have automatic renewal for certain things we renew yearly. It makes it easy for us, it gives the seller security.

And one more thing, it allows the seller to keep renewing until they receive notice to discontinue.

Eventually your card will expire after a number of years and you have to renew your card online in order to continue use with that business.

Let me rephrase that one time. Read carefully, I only added one word.

Eventually your card will expire after a number of years and you should have to renew your card online in order to continue use with that business.

As mentioned previously my satellite radio subscription had to be renewed this month. There was a credit on my account that covered most of it, but with taxes and entertainment charges there was a little over $14. more required.

The credit card on file was expired. They changed the date themselves, not to the right date, but to one that indicated it wasn’t expired.

Something to be aware of. Just because you think your card is expired doesn’t mean it can’t be manipulated, with or without your permission.
