Batteries Not Included But The Charger Is
PITA
One time, especially after Christmas it was “do we have enough batteries” to run everything. Batteries not included was the worst words to read on the box Christmas morning.
Well times have changed. Now the magic words are “do we have enough chargers?” No, let me adjust that a little. The words are, “do we have enough outlets to plug all those chargers in?”
It seems half the stuff we own these days is rechargeable. It amazes me how the manufacturers know how to make these devices all run out, or run down if you prefer, all at the same time.
There’s the ordinary cords, the cords with big power bricks, the cords with side ways power bricks, the USB charging cords, and who knows how many other kinds of power charging cords.
I expect to see the story of the house with 10,000 outlets one of these days, just to accommodate chargers.
If you have a six outlet power bar, you can probably plug in two power bricks that use two, but cover all the holes.
Or on the wall outlet, plug it in upside down or right side up and it still covers both outlets.
The components inside a power brick are usually a tiny circuit board with a couple diodes on it or something. Why can’t they incorporate that into the device itself? Then use a standard electrical cord. Or failing that, do like they do with most computers, a standard cord with a power brick in the middle of a regular cord.
Anyway I have to go now. I am on charger rotation duty.
