I Listen But I Don't Hear You
Did you ever notice how many people today listen to what you are saying, but they don't hear you? Whether at work or on the telephone, you go through this long explanation of something, and the next thing you know, the other person responds with something that has absolutely nothing to do with what you were just talking about.
Or sometimes they even ask you a question. You respond with what you think it a reasonable answer, and they come back with either the same question in a different format, or else with a response that again has nothing to do with the first.
Then some time later you will be talking to them, or overhear them saying something to someone else and they are saying "the other day you said", and it was they who did the saying, not you. Funny how that works. What was it you were saying?
