You Don't Need To Read The Comics To See The Funnies
An article in one of the local papers today relays a residents complaint that helicopters at a local airport are making too much noise at night. The poor soul lives about a kilometre from the airport, and has been there over two years.
When one takes up residence they usually check out the local area. How long has the airport been there? A lot longer than the subdivision, I can tell you that. I remember when that subdivision was a swamp. A proposal for a subdivision was presented and meetings took place that brought attention to the fact 'you are developing near an airport'. "No problem", was the reply.
Kind of sounds like the development of a subdivision near a pig farm. The farm has been there for over 50 years. But a couple years later residents of the subdivision complain that the farm stinks and must go.
Or residents of a certain area have been spraying their lawns for many many years. Suddenly a new resident comes in and complains they are allergic to chemicals. No spraying allowed.
Pretty soon we will have to ban those little things you toss in the dryer to make clothes smell fresh. The dryer exhausts outside - smells like perfume!
