The Worst Part

Our house is getting new windows. This is almost as bad as moving. Curtains and drapes have to be taken down. Blinds and verticals have to be taken down. Now all the brackets have to be removed, and you know at least half of them are covered in paint.

One I didn’t think of is the security system. All the sensors have to be removed and the wires set aside so they can be gotten hold of again. Then there is the sound system. Front ceiling mounted suspended speakers have to be taken down. (I was a lot younger when I put them up. Or it seems like that anyway.)

The canopy has to be removed off the deck. Furniture has to be moved away from the windows to give the workmen space to work. Now the weather has to cooperate. No wind, no rain required.

And so it rained. The job is delayed until the next fine day. This is like living in a fish  bowl with no drapes, blinds or curtains on any of the windows. And little pathways between all the furniture pieces require a certain amount of navigation, especially if the lights are off.

But that is not the worst part. After the windows are done – I have to put all that s*^t back!
