Love Those Specialty Logos
Most of the so called specialty channels are on for free this month. One thing that is irriating on regular tv's is the watermark or logo they place in the corner. On a large screen tv they are super intrusive. These things are about two inches tall, and for some of them about eight inches long. That is a lot of screen real estate.
There is also a concern with some tv's, especialy plasma models, that these can be burned into the screen permanently. I understand the reason is the people who record (pirate) programs and movies. This way the recorded program shows the watermark/logo.
What gets me, is the tv belongs to the owner. Also you are paying extra for these channels. So should you have to put up with this intrusion of 'your' space? These things are creeping into many of the regular channel lineups too.
We subscribe to two of these specialty channels. First of all, there are a lot of repeats. That I understand to a degree. But lately, especially during this 'free' period I notice they are slipping in half hour 'Paid Programming' segments. Should I pay for paid programming? Would you?
