My Wheat Flakes Turn To Bran
Some time ago I mentioned about how irriating it is to have to open blister packs which nearly everything seems to come in today.
Oh, it can get worse. Now dry cereal, cookies and other like products come with sealed interior bags that you can't open anymore unless you can find the scissors. And you thought 'Wagon Wheels' were difficult - that was just the start of it. You can pull and tear at these content protectors all you like, it is not going to come apart unless you cut it. At least if you want the package open with the contents still inside the product package.
Now there is something to be said for having the package sealed so you know no one has tampered with the contents. And sometimes freshness only lasts inside sealed packages. They should still be able to do that and allow you to get the package open easily.
Here's how my morning started: New package of cereal with some kind of dried fruit in it Tear the box open carefully so you can reclose it. Half the tab comes off so it will never stay closed again. Now open that plastic interior bag. Where's the scissors? Okay my jackniufe will do. It doesn't cut straight across. Try to redo it. Now the plastic bag is half out of the box. Holy #$*^ I can now see the flakes of wheat mixed with the dried fruit. (Looks like parts of a slipper.) Pour them in the bowl, well some of them - some of them end up on the table cause the bag is not cut straight. Now get the dang fangled bag back into the box. It won't go because it has swelled up larger than the box. Ram them in, the wheat flakes turn into all bran. Box is larger now and it won'f fit in the cupboard between the cookies. Ram that in...
