Make You Own Weather Decision
No surprise that the weather forecasters have suggested we will again get many more hurricanes coming up our coast and possibly coming inland this summer. It is a fact of life that our weather has changed and will change more as time goes on.
One thing I like about the internet is that you can track hurricanes yourself and watch their progress from start to finish. One of my favourite sites is Environment Canada, I have used this site many times over the past few years and it has proven to be quite accurate over all. By using their menu items you can check various radar or satellite views of what is going on right up to the minute practically.
Of course in hurricane season the place to watch is the Hurricane Information map on their site. During the approach of hurricane Juan a few years back, when folks said we didn't get enough warning, I watched Juan develop and travel up the coast, then make that abrupt turn towards Halifax. The destruction followed, but I was able to watch its progress for days, and make my own decisions whether to pay attention or not. Thankfully I did pay attention.
Such is the advantage of the internet. The internet has good things too, rather than just scams, porno and other negative things that always seem to make the media.
