You Look But You Don't See
There are a lot of bad drivers on the road today. Bad in the sense that they don't care, are distracted and don't see the hazards. Anytime you ask anyone that drives they will always say they are a good driver and it is the others that are the bad ones.
Among all the distractions such as cell phones, dogs, kids and other interior events is the fact that most are driving down the road not seeing what is important. Oh sure, they look, but they don't see. The risks are not being decoded by busy brains overloaded with other things.
Do you look and not see? If you do, your life may be at risk, and others. You have to be able to see hazards, assess the risk, and make adjustments in your driving if necessary.
Remember, anytime you see skid marks on the road, it means someone saw a hazard, and made an adjustment - too late!
