Thank you for ...
Remember a few years ago when the phrase “Have A Nice Day” got so over used we got sick of it? Smiley faces galore plastered everywhere expressing the same message?
Well today it’s getting out of hand again. You go shopping at one of the big X stores (W actually) and the cashier says “Thank you for shopping at X”. Then as you try to exit between the security tag screamin’ bloopers, another human says, “Thank you for shopping at X”.
High up on the list is the cashier that says, “Did you find everything you need today?”. Why would I be at the cash if I hadn’t found all I intended to buy? I always feel like saying: “No, I was going to buy a cow, but I couldn’t find the right aisle, can you help me!”.
Now I think the worst yet is when you call customer service on the telephone to complain about something or voice a concern. The call always ends with “Thank you for calling Z”. Well this wasn’t a courtesy call to see how you are doing. I couldn’t call anyone else about my situation, it was your product or service, so why thank me??
“Thank you for reading this blog.”
