Read This
I can read about computer topics and understand every word. I can read auto related items and understand every word. Same with do it yourself suggestions and other various topics. Most of the time I can even understand the news. <grin>
But today I got an insert with my pay statement about a problem with the government and our pension costs. I read it twice and it doesn't make a bit of sense to me. Oh yeah I get the idea - that because of certain government actions our contributions are likely to go up. They are looking for support to prevent that.
With something so important, I have always wondered why the pension, insurance and financial people can't write in every day language that everyone can understand. They always use jargon pecular to their industry that reads like a court summons. I am willing to bet that most people will glance at the first paragraph and throw it away.
That happens a lot these days.
