Metric Dogs
This Is The Metric
For an old guy I have done pretty good with the metric system since it came out. I think in degrees celcius, and have no problem adjusting my speed or thinking distance in kilometres. I have a little difficulty with the lbs and kg stuff, preferring to think pounds on that one. I don't have any problem with millimetres of rain or centimetres of snow either.
But as the local population was getting ready for the storm Noel, which is classified as a dangerous storm but not a hurricane, I ran across a bummer. They were predicting 10 to 11-metre seas. I have no idea or no imagination as to how large those waves would be. Thankfully I don't live that near the ocean so it won't be a problem for me, but the thought just hit me that was one metric item that gets lost in short thought.
Don't bother telling me the conversion, because that multiply by divide by is worse than not knowing. I will just live with it's windy, raining cats and dogs, and the sea is making waves - big waves.

Here Are The Dogs
In our neighbourhood there are a couple of dogs that are often on the loose. It looks like they broke away from their moorings, because each always has a little piece of broken rope attached to their collar.
Today I put two and three together, and tooks some pictures of these roaming dogs for future reference.
I got the thinking process in motion and looked at the facts. Owners are supposed to clean up after their pets. It's called responsible pet ownership or something. Next I am thinking, how often do the same two dogs break away from their holding device?
What a neat way for the owner(s) to let the dog go about their business. They let it loose with this little piece of rope dangling from the collar and say go do your thing. If anyone says anything, "sorry about that the dog broke away", would sooth the situation. But it is unlikely anyone would bother following up on such activity.
Hey Animal Control, how do you like this series of pictures? HeyTv you want'em too?
