And The Thunder Rolls

They say the weather is changing around the world due to various reasons. In our area of Nova Scotia it certainly has changed a lot since hurricane Juan a few years back. This year so far has been a series of floods, tornadoes and who knows what all depending on where you live in this vast land.

Here's a look at the weather map for North America provided by one of the major weather forecasters, the weather network, showing lightening for the early evening of June 21st.

Where I am located the thunder just rolled and pounded for over an hour in the distance. There wasn't any lightening that I could see, and no rain, just rolling thunder continuously and some cloud cover.

This is from the government weather site for nearly the same time period, again showing lightening across nearly all of North America.

I check the weather for my area regularly on both of these sites. I can't recall ever seeing that much lightening across the land at one time. Checking the same sites later and they were almost clear with only a few lightening areas shown.

Kind of lets us know in a different way that mother nature is always in charge.
